Chennai – Vishwa Varkari Sansthan celebrated the 750th birth anniversary of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj in a grand ceremony here. Founder of Sanatan Sanstha, Sachchidananda Parabrahman Dr Athavale, one of the two spiritual successors, Shrichitshakti Mrs Anjali Mukul Gadgil, was a special invitee at the event. Also, Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi was present as the chief guest of the programme. 750 varkaris recited Dnyaneshwari on the occasion of Mauli’s 750th birth anniversary. The event was organised at Shri Anand Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Adyar, Chennai.
The ceremony was inaugurated by lighting the lamp with the auspicious hands of Shrichitshakti Mrs Anjali Gadgil. Shri Raghunathdas Maharaj’s mother, Gurumata Meenalochani, Dr Shri Raghunathdas Maharaj, and his wife, Sou. Shubhalakshmi. During the event, spiritual texts written by Dr Shri Raghunathdas Maharaj, the successor of ‘Vishwa Varkari Sansthan’, namely ‘Rajavidya’ (commentary on Chapter 9 of Dnyaneshwari) and ‘Dnyanottar Bhakti’ (the secrets of the teachings of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj) were released by Shrichitshakti Mrs Anjali Gadgil and R.N. Ravi. Dr Shri Raghunathdas Maharaj honoured Shrichitshakti Mrs Anjali Gadgil by presenting an idol of Saint Dnyaneshwar Maharaj.

Vishwa Varkari Sansthan has been promoting the devotional tradition of Maharashtra around the world for the last 30 years. Under this, it has so far trained 15,000 people in Tamil Nadu in the recitation of Abhang and Dnyaneshwari. 5 lakh Tamil devotees from all over the world eagerly participate in the various programmes of the Sansthan.
