Opposition to the construction of Islamic Centre in a British city with only 11 Muslims

London (Britain) – There is a strong opposition to the construction of an Islamic Centre in Dalton-in-Furness, a historic city in Britain, where only 11 people are Muslims, out of the total population of 7,500. This 3-storeyed Islamic Centre would cost Rs 25 crore.

Local citizens, especially women, as well as some traders, are opposing this centre as the Muslim population in this area is only 11. Therefore, there is no need for such a large Islamic Centre. They fear that this could be a plan to settle immigrants. It will have an impact on the city’s cultural identity. On the other hand, Labour Party MP Michelle Scrogham has supported the centre.

Editorial Perspectives

  • It would not be wrong to say that the centre is meant to increase the Muslim population from 11 to 11 lakh.
  • Britain is already suffering from the atrocities of fanatic Muslims. If such incidents start happening now, then ‘Doomsday’ (day of destruction) is not far away.
