Lucknow – Chief Minister has announced a significant gift for women in the state for the upcoming festival of Raksha Bandhan. From the morning of August 8 to midnight on August 10, women will be able to travel for free on all Uttar Pradesh Roadways (UPSRTC) and city buses. This decision has been taken to make it easy for the women to visit their brothers. The fact that the women will be able to travel free in the buses for 3 days has increased the enthusiasm and joy in the families for the coming festival.
1. This facility has been offered for the entire state. From 10 am on the 8th of August to midnight of 10th August the women will be able to take advantage of this scheme. In this period the women do not need to buy tickets to travel by bus.
2. The Chief Minister has instructed the officers, that adequate number buses should be plying during this period. Lucknow, Kanpur, Gorakhpur, and other major cities have been ordered to do special planning of the bus services during this period.
