Being a devout Hindu means accepting everyone

Statement by RSS Sarsanghchalak Param Pujya Dr Mohanji Bhagwat

Kochi (Kerala) – “Being a devout Hindu does not mean opposing others, but accepting everyone. Hinduism is a religion that embraces all,” said Param Pujya Dr Mohanji Bhagwat, the Sarsanghchalak (Chief) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was speaking at the ‘Gyaan Sabha’ (Knowledge Assembly) organised by the National Education Council.

Param Pujya Dr Mohanji Bhagwat further said:

  1. There is often a misconception that if someone is firm in their faith, they are against others. We are Hindus, but the essence of being Hindu is that we accept everyone.
  2. There is a need for change in education. The colonial education system imposed by Macaulay is not suitable for today’s India.
  3. There are two types of knowledge in this world — Vidya (true knowledge) and Avidya (ignorance). Both play a significant role in the material and spiritual aspects of life, and India values the balance between the two.
  4. India is a spiritual land, and the country’s nationalism is linked with pure and sacred sentiments.
  5. True scholars don’t just engage in contemplation; they transform their thoughts into action.
  6. We don’t need to become a golden bird again — we need to become a lion. The world understands only strength, and India must be a powerful nation.
