Predators arrested for assaulting minor girl during the Wari pilgrimage

One of the accused is a religious fanatic with 17 prior criminal cases

Daund (Pune District) – A minor girl from a bhajani mandal heading to Pandharpur in a four-wheeler for the Ashadhi Wari was sexually assaulted by her brother-in-law and his brother. The crime was confirmed in a police investigation.

The Pune Rural Police Crime Branch arrested Amir Pathan from Ranjangaon (Tal. Shirur) and Vikas Satpute from Bhigwan. Both have been remanded to five days in Police custody.

Inspector Gopal Pawar of Daund Police Station confirmed that Amir Pathan has 17 criminal cases against him, including theft and burglary, registered in Pune city and Thane. Notably, Pathan’s sister is married to co-accused Vikas Satpute.
