Injustice against Hindus in independent India : Hindutva leader Sharana Pampwell banned from Chikkamagaluru district for one month

Reason cited: delivering provocative speeches

Hindutva-oriented leader Sharan Pampvel

Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka) –Hindutva leader Sharana Pampwell banned from the district for 1 month A one-month ban has been imposed on Hindutva leader Sharana Pampwell from entering Chikkamagaluru district, effective from 6 July to 4 August. District Collector Meena Nagaraj issued this order. Pampwell had been invited for meetings in Chikkamagaluru, Mudigere, and Aldur.

According to officials, more than 22 cases have been registered against Pampwell. Due to his staunch nationalist ideology, he is recognised as an “influential individual.” The administration claimed that Pampwell delivers speeches that incite communal hatred and has been present at several riot-related events. His allegedly provocative speeches have led the State Government to act against hate speech. As part of that campaign, Pampwell has been barred from entering Chikkamagaluru district for 30 days. (The Police in Karnataka will never reveal how many Muslim and Christian leaders, who commit atrocities against Hindus under the guise of religious fanaticism, have faced such action – that too is a truth – Editor)

Certain cities, including Chikkamagaluru, are communally sensitive. Even minor incidents could disrupt law and order. Therefore, to maintain peace, Sharana Pampwell has been prohibited from entering the district for the next 30 days.

Editorial Perspectives

  • In a country where Hindus are the majority, imposing such bans on Hindu leaders is condemnable. This is nothing short of an assault on democracy itself. Hindus in Karnataka must confront the ruling Congress and hold it accountable.
  • Please note, the same Congress party in Karnataka that promised to lift the ban on jihadist terrorist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) during elections is now imposing bans on Hindu leaders.
