Key instructions:
- Authorities have been directed to ensure proper arrangements along Kanwar routes — including cleanliness, street lighting, drinking water, toilets, and medical aid. Local administrations have been asked to stay in constant touch with Kanwar associations and conduct advance reviews of all preparations. For Muharram processions, focus will be on both security and community engagement. The height of DJs, Tazia (replica of Imam Hussain’s mausoleum), and chariots will be regulated as per approved standards, and noise levels will be kept within permissible limits.
- Special teams will monitor social media to curb misinformation and rumours. The meeting was attended by the Director General of Police, Chief Secretary (Home), and several other senior officials.
- This proactive approach aims to ensure a peaceful and respectful observance of all religious events in the coming weeks.
