Digha Jagannath Dham’s ‘Prasad’ distributed by Bengal Govt is prepare by Muslims

BJP protests

Kolkata (Bengal) – The Trinamool Congress government in Bengal is distributing ‘Prasad’ under the ‘Duare Sarkar’ scheme in connection with Digha Jagannath Dham. However, this Prasad is not being supplied by the Jagannath Temple Dham Trust, but is instead being prepared locally — and shockingly, even by Muslim sweet vendors.

Among the four vendors supplying to the Digha Jagannath Dham Cultural Centre in Raninagar, three are Muslims, as revealed by an official government notification. The BJP has raised strong objections, calling it a clear case of hurting Hindu religious sentiments.

Union Minister and BJP leader Sukanta Majumdar posted on X, asking, “I want to ask the Bengal administration — is this notification authentic?”

The notification has sparked fear and outrage among local Hindus. It lists names and contact details of local sweet shop owners, and three out of the four listed are Muslims. The BJP questioned whether contracts to prepare sacred Prasad for Hindus are now being handed out to Muslim traders.

Not just sweets — even the boxes are sourced from Muslims

Earlier, Leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhikari also flagged this issue, stating that the problem isn’t limited to buying sweets — even the boxes used to pack the Prasad are being purchased from local Muslim-owned shops. “This is nothing short of an insult to the Hindu faith,” he said.
