Mumbai – The railway administration should consider installing automatic closing doors to prevent passengers from falling to their deaths from local trains in Mumbai. The incident of passengers falling to their deaths from local trains in Mumbra is sad. None of the measures taken by the railways are enough. Passengers are dying due to falling off local trains. Statistics show that an estimated 10 passengers die in train accidents every day. This situation is alarming, the Bombay High Court said. A bench of Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sandeep Marne heard a public interest litigation related to the frequent deaths of railway passengers due to crowding and falling off moving trains.
Expressing concern, Chief Justice Aradhe said, “Our only wish is that such incidents do not happen again in the future.”
