Guwahati (Assam) – Tension has arisen in Lakhipur, Assam, after Muslims threw a severed cow’s head in the vicinity of Kalimata Temple on June 14. Earlier, a similar incident had taken place in Dhubri. After that, violence broke out here. Police have arrested 5 Muslims in the Lakhipur case. Their names are Bodir Ali, Hazrat Ali, Tara Mia, Shajamal Mia and Jahangir Alam. Chief Minister Sarma gave information about this by posting on ‘X’ and assured strict action against the accused.

Local Hindus say that Muslims had committed similar acts in the past. Beef was thrown in the vicinity of a temple located in Ward No. 10 here. After the people complained, the police started an investigation.
