Dhubri (Assam) – Tension was created in Dhubri city after beef was found on the premises of the city’s Hanuman Temple. The citizens of Dhubri expressed their anger and anguish over this incident, and demonstrated against the incident. Security Forces posted in the city to maintain law and order. Police have assured that the culprits will be arrested at the earliest. In light of the ongoing tension, the Dhubri district administration has imposed Section188 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to maintain law and order. Under the order, all shops and business establishments in Dhubri town are to remain closed until further notice.

Vegetable vendors and e-rickshaw drivers attacked by unknown people

Unknown people attacked vegetable vendors and e-rickshaw drivers in Dhubri Magistrate Colony and New Market area. The Police fired tear gas bullets into the air to bring the situation under control.
