25 paintings of anti-Hindu painter M.F. Hussain to be auctioned

  • A painting to be auctioned in Mumbai on June 12th

  • Several reported scams related to the paintings

Mumbai – 25 paintings of M.F. Hussain, who painted nude and obscene paintings of Hindu Deities and Bharatmata, and who could not return to India due to over 1,200 complaints filed against him, are set to be auctioned. 17 of them were kept in banks till now. These paintings are related to a Rs 100 crore loan scam, a Rs 235 crore loan scam and even a CBI inquiry. An English newspaper has reported that one of his paintings will be auctioned on June 12th by the Pundole’s Art Gallery at Hamilton House in Mumbai. The then Government had awarded M.F. Hussain the ‘Padma Bhushan’ award in 1973 and the ‘Padma Vibhushan’ award in 1991. (This shows that hurting the sentiments of the majority Hindus is considered an achievement in India – Editor).

Editorial Perspectives

  • M.F. Hussain has made paintings of Bharatmata and Hindu Deities like Saraswati, Ganapati, Shiva etc., which are so obscene that a devotee or patriot cannot even look at these paintings. Hence Hindus should strongly oppose the auction of paintings by such a painter.
  • In a Hindu majority country, a Hindu girl, Sharmishtha Panoli, is arrested for allegedly disrespecting Islam. But the pictures of a painter, who earned crores of rupees by making nude paintings of Hindu Deities, are being auctioned even after his death. This is outrageous ! This example is enough for Hindus to realise the value of their religious sentiments in India.
