New Delhi – According to a survey by ‘Voice for inclusion’, ‘Belonging and empowerment’ and ‘Project potential’, 81% youth are patriotic, however, they do not have faith in any of the political parties. This survey is based on 4,972 young people. The survey was conducted from June to August 2024.
The key observations
1. Most of the young people did not come to cast votes in the 2024 elections. This indicates that young people are slowly moving away from politics.
2. 29% of the youths are completely disinterested in politics. 29% participate in the discussion even when they do not prefer any political party. Only 11% are members of various political parties.
3. 49% want to join social service. 58% from them do not have funds and 39% lack proper guidance.
4. Instead of conventional politics they are looking forward to politics based on specific principle and active participation. They are more aware of environment, gender equality, education and unemployment. (We must be careful that they do not turn to Wokeism which is only a façade of communism – Editor). Indian youth are no longer only voters, they want participation in policy making.
Editorial PerspectiveLooking at the 78 years history, not only the youth even the elderly do not have faith in political parties. It won’t be a surprise, if, in future, the public demands an alternative political system. |
