BEL Employee Arrested for Leaking Confidential Information to Pakistan

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Deep Raj Chandra, an employee of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), has been arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistan. Chandra works at BEL’s Production Development and Research Center and hails from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

A few days ago, investigative agencies had arrested Ravindra Kumar, a Junior Work Manager at Kanpur’s Ordnance Factory, for supplying confidential information to Pakistan. The ongoing investigation into that case led to this latest action in Bengaluru.

The exact documents that were leaked to Pakistan have not yet been disclosed. Currently, BEL is engaged in manufacturing various lethal weapons for the Indian Air Force, including drones and fighter jets.

Earlier, on February 18, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had arrested two individuals in Karnataka’s Karwar Naval Base for providing sensitive information to Pakistan.
