MLA Amit Satam has accused prominent ministers of the Maha Vikas Aghadi of being involved in the matter

Mumbai, March 20 – Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has alleged that his daughter was gang-raped and murdered. He has taken the matter to court, asserting the involvement of a prominent minister from the Maha Vikas Aghadi. On March 20, BJP MLA Amit Satam called for the immediate arrest of the accused during a session in the Legislative Assembly, citing concerns of propriety. BJP and Shiv Sena MLAs also gathered in front of the Speaker’s chair, reiterating their demand for the accused’s arrest.Due to the commotion in the Assembly, Speaker Rahul Narvekar was compelled to adjourn the proceedings for 10 minutes.

When the House reconvened, Speaker Rahul Narvekar urged members to focus on the proceedings. However, MLAs from the ruling party insisted on a probe into Disha Salian’s death.During the discussion, BJP MLA Amit Satam pointed out, “A special police team was formed in December 2022 to investigate the suspicious death of Disha Salian. However, after five and a half years, the findings of the team have yet to be released.After Disha Salian’s death, the then mayor of Mumbai pressured Disha Salian’s family and prevented them from going to the media. It is suspected that a minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government was involved in Disha Salian’s death.All of these should be investigated by a special police team.”

Nitesh Rane, the Fisheries and Port Development Minister, urged for the arrest of the accused to facilitate an investigation, citing a Supreme Court directive on handling serious cases.

Minister of State for Home Affairs (Urban), Yogesh Kadam, affirmed, ‘We will maintain a clear and resolute position in court !’

Disha Salian’s father has gone to court and the court has made the government a party in this case. In this case, regardless of any political party, the law is the same for everyone.The government has been made a party to this case, and strict action will be taken as per the law. We will ensure the right stand is taken in court.
