Tumakuru (Karnataka) – Five months after the Centre gave permission to name Tumakuru railway station after Siddhaganga Muth’s Dr Sri Shivakumara Swami (Siddaganga Shree), Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is procrastinating signing, alleged the Union Minister of State for ‘Jal Shakti and Railways’ V.Somanna.

Union Minister of State V. Somanna further said –

1. The state government is procrastinating signing a letter from the Centre to name Tumakuru railway station after ‘Siddhaganga Shree’, who gave direction to the lives of lakhs of poor children by providing them food, clothing and shelter. This is not right.

2. I have personally gone and spoken to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary to the Government. Yet they are not ready to sign the letter of the Union Government. The State and the Union Government should act like two sides of the same coin. The Chief Minister should immediately sign the letter of the Centre and cooperate in naming the Tumakuru railway station after Siddhaganga Shree, otherwise immediate action should be taken against the Chief Minister and the officials concerned.

3. Rs 90 crore has been approved to modernise railway stations in the city. People have elected usby voting for us. No politician should forget that we should work keeping loyalty to the votes of the people.
