As per the information provided by the Police, Nayaztrapped Swati in a love relationship. However, Swati had distanced herself from Nayaz in the last few days. Furious at this, Nayaz abducted Swati with the help of 2 of his friends and brought her to Ranebennur. There they threatened Swati and tried to pressurise her to keep meeting Nayaz. Swati did not agree to do so. An infuriated Nayaz killed Swati by strangulating her, with the help of the two friends. Then they threw the deadbody into the Tungabhadra river.

Swati’s mother Shashikala had lodged a missing complaint with the Police. Around the same time the Police found an unidentified dead body in the Tungabhadra river and recognised it to be Swati’s own. Editorial Perspective

In order to eradicate Love Jihad which aims to uproot Hindus, there has to be a strict pan-India Legislation that penalises Love Jihadis by hanging them to death.
