Karnataka: Claim that land of Mangaluru school belongs to Waqf

Former Waqf Board chairman falsely claims that the land was leased to the school 100 years ago

Mangaluru (Karnataka) – N.K.M. Shafi Saadi, former chairman of the Waqf Board, has claimed that the land of Canara School in Dongerkery, Mangaluru, is Waqf property. He made this statement during a press conference organised by the Dakshina Kannada District Waqf Advisory Committee. He also demanded the repeal of the Central Waqf Amendment Act.

He asserted, “The school land belongs to Kutch Memon Mosque’s Waqf, and 100 years ago, one acre of this land was leased to the school. At that time, Waqf used to receive ₹100 per year as rent. As per the agreement, Canara School was also required to teach Urdu to two students. However, for the past 12 years, this rent has not been paid. According to the records of Kutch Memon Mosque, this land belongs to us!”

Shafi Saadi went on a rant while making these claims.

Editorial Perspective

Those making such claims should remember that Muslim invaders seized Hindu lands through aggression. Before Hindus start demanding, ‘Return all our lands and leave India,’ the Waqf Board should shut down once and for all ! When will Hindus gather the courage to say this ?
