Incident in Bewar, Rajasthan
Jaipur (Rajasthan) – A case has come to light in Bewar district, where Muslim youths lured underage Hindu girls, sexually exploited them, and attempted to convert them. The Police have arrested seven individuals in this case. The accused, Rihan Mohammad, Sohail Ansari, Lukman, Arman Pathan, and Sahil Qureshi, are aged between 19 and 20, while the other two are minors.
Lawyers assaulted the accused
The Court has remanded five adult accused to four days of Police custody. While being presented in Court, the accused were assaulted by lawyers, who also threw shoes and slippers at them. The local Hindu community has staged protests regarding this case. The two minor accused have been sent to the Juvenile Justice Board.
Case details
According to the Police : Five girls have lodged complaints stating that some individuals provided them with mobile phones and sexually exploited them. The accused contacted the girls through social media and gave them Chinese mobile phones. The victims were blackmailed and pressured to convert.
Background of the accused : Some of the accused work at a welding shop, while others are employed at furniture stores. Their targets were Hindu schoolgirls studying in the 10th grade. The victims reside nearby and used to pass through the area where these Muslim youths lived on their way to school.
Statement of a victim : One of the victims stated that Sohail Mansoori had been following her for 15 days from school to her home. He gave her his mobile number, and when she contacted him, he asked her to meet him at a café, where he sexually exploited her and took photographs. Other Muslim youths were also present. After this, Sohail started harassing her to introduce him to her friend.
