Withdraw the ‘Padma Shri’ awarded to Ekta Kapoor

New Delhi – A demand is being made to withdraw the ‘Padma Shri’ awarded to Film Producer Ekta Kapoor. From all parts of the country, 108 advocates have written to President Draupadi Murmur requesting her to take back the ‘Padma Shri’ awarded to Kapoor. The lawyers have accused Ekta Kapoor of spreading pornographythrough her web series in the country. ‘Ekta Kapoor’s web series is degrading the ethical values and morals, and the sacrosanct relationships too are not spared from this’ they accuse.

The lawyers have named many such web series made by Kapoor, in their letter to the President. The content of Kapoor’s web series is having a negative impact on the Indian society and youth. The award given to her should be withdrawn as the stature of the award too is in danger to lose its prestige as she is the recipient of it. This is their request.

Kapoor was awarded the Padma Shri in 2021. She was commended for her contribution to the field of Films and television. (This highlights that the public should be told what great contribution she had made which benefited society and nation ? – Editor)
