(Uroos refers to a festival organised on the death anniversary of a Muslim religious leader.)
Palakkad (Kerala) – On 16 February, a Uroos was organised at the tomb of Muslim religious leader Thrithala, attended by thousands of people. Following this, Muslims seated on elephants held banners featuring images of Hamas’ slain top leaders Ismail Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar, and Hezbollah’s chief Hassan Nasrallah. A minister from the Kerala Government and a former Congress MLA were present at the event. After videos of this incident surfaced, BJP strongly criticised it. According to the Police, no complaint has been received yet, so no case has been registered. (The Police have the authority to take action on their own. Why didn’t they take any action ? – Editor)

BJP criticises the CPI(M) Government, saying such incidents occur due to vote-bank politics
BJP’s state president K. Surendran said, “All these activities are being done for vote-bank politics with the support of the current CPI(M) Government. Anti-national organisations and extremist elements are active here. In Kerala, only the BJP speaks out against anti-national and terrorist activities.”
A year ago, during a gathering in Kerala, a Hamas leader participated online. At that time, BJP criticised it, but the Kerala Government did not take any action. (This reveals the Kerala Government’s mindset – Editor)
‘Many in the country support Palestine’ – Congress leader V.T. Balram
Former Congress MLA V.T. Balram, who was present at the Uroos, posted on Facebook stating, “All Indians, except those linked to the Sangh Parivar, support the Palestinian people and their aspirations for freedom.” (The Union Government has supported Palestine, but why is Congress silently supporting Hamas terrorists? – Editor) He further said, “Whether Hamas leaders should be honoured or not is a different issue.”
Editorial PerspectiveWho are the jihadi terrorist organisation’s leaders to Kerala’s Muslims? Such Muslims should be arrested and given strict punishment. However, since Kerala has a Communist Government that supports jihadis, this is unlikely to happen. The Union Government must intervene. |
