Thane (Maharashtra) – A festival is held at Malanggad fort in Kalyan on the occasion of Maghi Purnima. In this context, the Police have issued notices to local devout Hindu activists, sparking outrage among Hindu devotees. At Malanggad fort, a dargah has been built at the site of the Navnath shrine, and Muslims oppose Hindu worship there. Hindus have been fighting against this for many years. Among Hindus, there is growing discussion that ‘sending notices to Hindus implies disrupting the peace of the Hindu community. In reality, Muslims have encroached upon Malanggad fort, yet it is the Hindus, who are trying to preserve their sacred site, that are being served notices. This is unfortunate’.
