Will go to the Supreme Court against the Waqf Amendment Act: A. Raja
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MP A. Raja said that BJP MP Jagdambika Pal ran the committee as per her wishes. She made a mockery of the process. I think the committee report has already been prepared. The proposed law will be unconstitutional, and our party will move the Supreme Court against it. The arguments made in the committee and the documents submitted will help in challenging this law.
Opposition from other parties
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that we received a 655-page draft last night. It is impossible to read a 655-page draft in one night. I have expressed my disagreement and will oppose this bill in Parliament as well.
Trinamool Congress MPs Kalyan Banerjee and Nadimul Haque, AAP MP leader Sanjay Singh and Shiv Sena (Thackeray) MP Arvind Sawant have formally registered their differences.
