Kashi Vidwat Parishad prepared ‘Hindu Code of Conduct’ after 351 years

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) – The ‘Hindu Code of Conduct’ prepared by the scholars of Kashi in Maha Kumbha will be made available to the public after the approval of the Shankaracharyas, Ramanujacharya and Saints. A meeting will be held in this regard sometime after 31st January. The Kashi Vidwat Parishad team has prepared this code of conduct after studying religious scriptures for 15 years. The 300-page code of conduct, along with the wrong practices in Hindu society, also contains rules regarding the marriage system. This is the first time after 351 years that such a code of conduct has been prepared for Hindus.

Swami Jitendranand Saraswati, National General Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti, said that after 11 years of ideological study and 4 years of study of religious texts, a team of scholars from across the country has prepared it with the help of Kashi Vidwat Parishad. In the Sant Parishad that will begin during the Maha Kumbha, Shankaracharya, Mahamandaleshwar and the Saints will give their final approval and request the country’s people to accept the Hindu Code of Conduct.

2. The Vishva Hindu Parishad plans to distribute one lakh copies of the Hindu Code of Conduct in the Maha Kumbha after Mauni Amavasya, with an additional 11,000 copies to be circulated across the country.

Based on Smritis and Puranas, 40 meetings were held

The Hindu Code of Conduct has been made karma and duty-oriented. It has been created keeping the Manusmriti, Parashar Smriti and Deval Smriti as basis, and important parts of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Puranas have been included along with Smritis. 11 Sanghas and three sub-sanghas of 70 scholars were formed. Each Sangha had 5 scholars each from the North and South. After 40 meetings, the final draft of the code of conduct was finalized.

What is in the ‘Hindu Code of Conduct’ ?

Prof. Ram Narayan Dwivedi, General Secretary of Kashi Vidwat Parishad, said that for 351 years after Manu, Parashar and Deval Smriti, the Hindu Code of Conduct has not been prepared or improved. The new code has also fixed the number of funeral feasts. Along with stopping unnecessary expenses at weddings, instructions have been given to get married during the day as per Vedic tradition. Apart from the kanyadan, dowry has been completely prohibited.
