Without Brahmins’ contribution, the Constitution would have taken 25 additional years to get framed : Krishna S Dixit, Karnataka judge

Karnataka High Court’s justice Krishna S. Dixit remarks

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Speaking at ‘Vishwamitra’, a two-day Brahmin convention on January 18th-19th to mark the golden jubilee of the Akhil Karnataka Brahmana Mahasabha, Justice Dixit said, “Brahmins’ contribution to the creation of the Constitution of India is vital. In a 7-member committee to draft the framework of the Constitution, 3 were Brahmins.” Justice Krishna S. Dixit referred to Dr Ambedkar’s words. He said that the creator of the Constitution Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar had said in the Bhandarkar Institute that the draft would have taken 25 years more if B N Rao had not worked for it. B N Rao was a Brahmin.

Ved Vyas was the son of a fisherman and Maharshi Valmiki belonged to a scheduled caste

The Justice added Ved Vyas, who categorised Vedas, was the son of a fisherman and the author of Ramayan, the Valmiki, belonged to a scheduled caste. We (Brahmins) never looked down upon them. In fact, for centuries, we have been worshipping Deity Shriram and His values are inculcated in the Constitution.

The Justice mentioned his past association with the non-Brahmin Nationalist movement and said, “Since I have assumed the office of Justice, I have disassociated myself from everything else and speak only within the judicial framework.”
