
New Delhi – The Union Cabinet approved the 8th Pay Commission for Union Government employees in a meeting held on January 16th. After the meeting, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav informed the press that this commission will be set up by 2026.
Pay Commission is implemented every 10 years. The previous Pay Commission was implemented in 2016. Before the 7th Pay Commission, the tenure of the Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Pay Commissions was 10 years each. The Seventh Pay Commission was implemented in the year 2016 and its tenure will end in December 2025.
