Land seized by Muslims in Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) returned to Hindu family after 47 years

Sambhal (Uttar Pradesh) – Following the riots of 1978, many Hindus fled from Sambhal, leading to illegal encroachment on their properties and lands by fanatic Muslims. Even after decades, no significant action had been taken against those who unlawfully seized these properties. However, the current Government has decided to reopen the riot cases and initiate investigations into the illegal encroachments. In a landmark decision, the administration has released land belonging to a Hindu family that had been illegally occupied by a Muslim individual for nearly 47 years. This reclaimed land, valued at approximately Rs 3 crore, is located within the premises of the ‘Azad Jannat Nisha Girls Higher Secondary School.’

1. Raghunandan, a resident of Narauli town in Sambhal District, had been living in Mahmud Khan Sarai until the riots of 1978 forced him to flee to Narauli. His ancestral property, located in Mohalla Jagat, was once a flower garden.

2. Raghunandan alleges that following the riots, Muslims illegally took control of his ancestral land and incorporated it into the premises of Azad Jannat Nisha Girls Higher Secondary School. Despite repeated complaints over the years, no action was taken.

3. Eventually, Raghunandan filed a complaint with District Collector Dr Rajendra Pansia, who ordered a thorough investigation. Upon inquiry, the school management committee failed to provide any valid documents to prove ownership of the disputed land.

Editorial Perspective

The way Hindus are being given justice in Uttar Pradesh, other State Governments must make similar efforts to ensure that Hindus get justice in those States as well. It is the duty of the Governments to perform such tasks as Hindus have elected them to power considering the slogan ‘Ek Hain Toh Saif Hain’ (If we remain united, we will be safe).
