Tel Aviv (Israel) – Although the war between Israel and Hamas has been ongoing for 15 months, the ceasefire process is now in its final stages, according to US President Joe Biden. In addition to Hamas and Israel, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar have also been involved in facilitating the ceasefire agreement. This agreement will be implemented in four stages, and according to the terms, ‘Hamas will release the hostages’, ‘a buffer zone (neutral territory between both groups) will be created’, and ‘Israel will release 1,000 Palestinians’. For the first time, delegations from Israel and Hamas are holding indirect talks in the same building in Qatar.

Stages of the Ceasefire :

1. The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will be implemented in four stages. In the first stage, on the first day of the agreement, Hamas will release three prisoners.
2. After the ceasefire takes effect, the second stage will begin on the seventh day. Hamas will release four more hostages that day. Israel will then allow the return of Palestinians living in the south after being expelled from northern Gaza. The agreement includes a provision to create an 800-meter ‘buffer zone’ along the eastern and northern borders. This process will continue for 42 days.
3. Discussions for the third and fourth stages will begin on the 16th day of the ceasefire agreement.
