Mumbai – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra on January 15. At 10.30 a.m., the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation the naval warships INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Waghshir at the Mumbai Naval Dockyard. At 3.30 p.m., he will inaugurate the ISKCON temple in Kharghar.

1. INS Surat (P15B) is the fourth and best ship in the missile destroyer project, and it happens to be one of the largest and most advanced destroyers in the world. 75 % of its material is indigenous. It is equipped with state-of-the-art weapons, sensor packages and advanced network-centric
capabilities.

2. INS Nilgiri (P 17A) is the first ship of the ‘Stealth Frigate’ class to be built by the Indian Navy. It can withstand the stress of the crisis. It incorporates advanced features for maritime security.

3. INS Waghshir (P 75) is the sixth and final submarine of the Scorpion project. It represents India’s growing expertise in submarine construction, built in collaboration with the French Naval Group. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the ISKCON project at Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Mandir, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Spread over 9 acres, the project includes temples of various deities, a Vedic education centre, a proposed museum, an auditorium and a treatment centre. The Vedic Education Centre aims to promote universal brotherhood, peace and harmony.
