Prayagraj – Considering the possibility of 40 crore devotees visiting this year’s Mahakumbh Parva, the Uttar Pradesh Police have geared up for the security of the entire Kumbh Parva. They have put in place a 7-tier security system for the Mahakumbh Parva and have deployed 10,000 personnel. 13 temporary Police stations and 23 Police posts have been set up in the city and rural areas. Paramilitary force, armed police force, bomb squad, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) etc. teams have also been deployed. There will be special Police security arrangements for devotees coming to the Kumbh Kshetra from bus stations, railway stations, airports.
Security deployment
There will be 8 zones (divisions), 18 sectors, 13 temporary Police stations, 44 permanent Police stations, 23 temporary Police posts, 21 units of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), 2 reserve units, 5 units of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), 4 units of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 12 units of the AS Check and 4 units of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad.
