Controversy erupts in Pune over a wall painted with green colour and a chadar and flowers offered there
Pune, Maharashtra – A wall near the ‘Dnyan Prabodhini’ school in Sadashiv Peth became the centre of attention after it was painted green and flowers and a chadar were offered there. Pictures of the wall quickly went viral on social media. BJP MP Medha Kulkarni, along with local leaders Sangram Dhole Patil, Sanket Mehandale, Yashpal Jadhav, and Datere, visited the site to address the issue. They subsequently repainted the wall in saffron, an act that was also widely shared through photographs and videos on social media.
Regarding the incident, BJP MP Medha Kulkarni expressed concern over the growing occurrence of such activities in various parts of Maharashtra, including Pune. She noted that at the local level, green colour is used to paint a site and worship is started, which eventually leads to their expansion. She emphasized the importance of vigilance, saying, “What is happening around us needs careful attention. Such incidents often begin in small ways but can expand significantly over time. It is crucial to act promptly.” Kulkarni also urged the Hindu community to remain alert and proactive in addressing such situations.
