Bulandshahr (Uttar Pradesh) – A temple has been found in the Muslim-majority area named Salma Hakan area of ​​Khurja town in Bulandshahr District. It is said to be about 50 years old. It has been closed since last 30 years. This temple was built by the Jatav community. They used to worship there. After the riots of 1990, the Jatav community left the locality and the temple was closed. At that time, a family from the community immersed the temple idols in the river.

1. The Sub-divisional Officer of Khurj city Durgesh Singh said that the temple is completely safe. There is no dispute about this place. The idols of the temple have been immersed in the river and the investigation into this matter is going on.

2. After the discovery of the temple, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Jatav Vikas Manch have demanded the administration to restore the temple. Members of the Manch and VHP have jointly demanded the resumption of religious activities in the temple.

3. VHP’s Meerut State office-bearer Sunil Solanki said that the temple has been closed since 1990. At that time, Hindu families living in the area had fled due to the fear of riots. He submitted a memorandum to the administration requesting cleaning and beautification of the temple so that worship can resume.

4. Kailash Bhagmal Gautam, President of Jatav Vikas Manch, also shed light on the history of the temple. He said that this temple was built by the people of the Jatav community.
The expectations of the local people and institutions regarding this temple have increased. They are of the opinion that the temple can be renovated, and worship can be resumed. The administration is expected to take a decision on this soon
