New Delhi – The winter session of Parliament ended on December 20th amid chaos. Due to the 20 days of non-functioning in this session, a loss of around Rs 84 crore has been incurred. The expenses for the functioning of Parliament per minute are about Rs 2.5 lakh.
Only 61 hours and 55 minutes were spent in the Lok Sabha and 43 hours and 39 minutes in the Rajya Sabha. This is a very insufficient period meaning, the important issues of the public were not discussed giving adequate time in the Parliament.
Editorial PerspectiveIf this money is recovered from every public representative involved in the chaos, only then they might realise their mistake. If they still do not stop, it is necessary to take a tough decision to revoke their status of a MP. By doing this, the sanctity of Parliament would be preserved. |
