New Delhi – According to several media reports, there were 428 Hindu temples in Pakistan before the partition of India; but after the partition, by the 1990s, more than 400 temples had been converted into restaurants, hotels, Government schools or madarasas. Now, only 22 Hindu temples remain in Pakistan, and the maximum number of them, 11, are in the Sindh region, according to a social media post by ‘Panchjanya’ magazine.
Editorial PerspectiveStatistics should also be given on how many mosques and madarasas existed in India before partition and how many are there now. What was the population of Muslims before and what is the population now. |
