Rebels move towards the capital Damascus
Damascus (Syria) – Since 27th November, there is a conflict going on between the Army and rebels in Syria. The rebels have seized control of Hama city on 5th December. Prior to this, the rebels had managed to gain control over Aleppo, the second largest city of Syria. Kurdish soldiers who had their presence in a part of Aleppo are fighting against the rebel group. Hence, the rebels attacked the Kurdish soldiers’ bases in Aleppo. Hama is the fourth largest city in Syria. Rebels couldn’t capture this city during the 2011 Civil War in Syria. Now the rebels have begun moving ahead towards Damascus, the capital of Syria. (It would not be wrong to say that where there are Islamic fundamentalists, there is violence and instability. – Editor)
