Eknath Shinde

Mumbai – “I have telephoned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on 26th November to tell that I will not be a hurdle to the Chief Minister’s post. The decision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah will be accepted by Shiv Sena.” said the caretaker CM Eknath Shinde in a press conference on 27 th November.

He said,

1. “I have told the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, never ever think that I will be a hurdle to form government. BJP had given Shiv Sena a chance to have a CM for two and a half years. The decision by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah is final for BJP, the same will apply to us.”

2. “This is a historic victory for the Mahayuti in Maharashtra. We do not believe in sit and cry; we believe in giving a strong fight. The Mahayuti workers put in extremely sincere hard work which resulted in success.”

3. “I will continue to work for the welfare of Maharashtra till the last drop of blood in my body. My efforts are for the public and not for any selfish motive. The people in Maharashtra felt that I was a member of their family, I got the honour of being recognised as the CM from the people. This requires great luck.”

4. “I belong to a farmer’s family, and I have seen my mother and wife running the house with great care to save money. I have always thought, if ever I have power in the government, I must do something for the wellbeing of the common people. Since I come from a poor family, I can relate with the emotions of the commoners. In these two and a half years in power, we have worked for the common man.”

5. “Shiv Sena supports government formation in Maharashtra. From our side there is no hurdle or displeasure in government formation in the State. The identity, ‘Ladka Bhau’ (favourite brother) which is given to me by my sisters in the State is the biggest honour for me. I am satisfied with my work as Chief Minister.”
