Successful testing of India made Hypersonic Missile

(Hypersonic means having 5 times the speed of sound)

Bhuvaneshwar (Odisha) – India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight-tested a long-range hypersonic missile off the coast of Odisha on Sunday November 17.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh noted its significance in a post on X and said, “India has achieved a major milestone by successfully conducting flight trial of long range hypersonic missile. This is a historic moment and this significant achievement has put our country in the group of select nations having capabilities of such critical and advanced military technologies.”

The range of this Hypersonic missile is more than 1,500 km. and this missile can attack the enemy from air, water and land. The speed of the Hypersonic missile is less than the Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile; but the Hypersonic missile after it has been launched towards a target it can change its direction midway. So it can dodge security systems like the radar.
