Wearing dhoti, sadra, applying tilak and saying ‘Hare Krishna’ also banned !
(ISKCON stands for International Society for Krishna Consciousness)

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Attacks on Hindus and their religious institutions have skyrocketed in Bangladesh since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, especially targeting ISKCON temples and its followers. ISKCON followers say that it is now difficult to follow their religious beliefs in Bangladesh. Wearing dhoti and sadra, distributing Bhagawadgeeta, donning tilak and chanting of ‘Hare Krishna’ has also been banned now.
What is our crime ?
According to a senior ISKCON official, Bangladesh was created at a time when the situation was critical and ISKCON had helped its people. Now their followers are scared of the atrocities being committed on Hindus and do not understand what their crime is.
ISKCON does not convert anyone !
The priest of The Nagpur Temple of ISKCON expressed grief over the incident and termed it as an example of religious intolerance and violence. Bangladesh is now dominated by people with demonic tendencies who are torturing innocent people. He explained further, ISKCON does not convert anyone or force anyone to change their religious identity.
Bangladesh bans the distribution of the Bhagavad Geeta by ISKCON.
Wearing a ‘Dhoti’ or ‘Sadara’, wearing a ‘Tilak’ and chanting ‘Hare Krishna’ is also banned.
ISKCON is an international organisation with a presence in many countries. Hence they should raise their objections… pic.twitter.com/GhuhFJdNI3
