A doctor and 6 workers killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir

  • Attack during ongoing construction of a tunnel

  • Terrorist group ‘The Resistance Front’ claims responsibility

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) – A terrorist attack in the Gagangir area of Ganderbal District in Jammu and Kashmir has resulted in the death of a doctor and 6 workers while many people have been injured. The workers were attacked while working on the construction site of a tunnel. The workers were part of the construction team working on the Z-Morh tunnel, which connects Gagangir to Sonamarg. Security forces have immediately cordoned off the entire area and launched a search operation to hunt for the terrorists. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack and expressed his sympathy for the victim families. (What else will Omar Abdullah say ? Has the Abdullah family ever said, “We will kill every single Jihadi and free Kashmir from terrorism ?” Do they even want that ? – Editor). According to the initial reports, the terrorist group ‘The Resistance Front’ has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on 20th October. A witness stated that the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the workers while they were preparing food. The gunfire caused two nearby vehicles to catch fire and burn completely.

The attackers won’t be spared : Union Home Minister Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the attack, calling it a cowardly and despicable act. He said that those involved in this heinous crime would not be spared, and there would be a strong retaliatory action from our security forces. (No matter how many terrorists are killed, others are always ready to replace them. This has been going on for the past 35 years. If we truly want to eliminate terrorism in Kashmir, we must destroy Pakistan, which produces these terrorists. Otherwise, such incidents will continue to occur – Editor). I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Editorial Perspective

The attack took place immediately after a new Government was formed in Jammu and Kashmir, which means the terrorists want to show that they wouldn’t let any democratic system work in Kashmir. Considering this, it is necessary to bring Kashmir under military control and teach a lesson to the Jihadi terrorists and the anti-national extremist Muslims who are their supporters.
