Ratnagiri, Maharashtra – On the eve of Vijayadashami, in the Konkan Nagar area, Muslims raised slogans of “Allah-hu-Akbar ” during an RSS march, which was being held under Police protection. In response, Hindus in the area protested at the Police station, demanding immediate action against those who hurt their religious sentiments. After the demands raised by the Hindus during the protest, District Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kulkarni, Additional District Superintendent of Police Jayshri Gaikwad, and Police Sub-Divisional Officer Nilesh Mayenkar took serious note of the incident.

1. As part of their annual tradition, the RSS had obtained necessary administrative permissions and commenced their march at 7 PM on Friday, 11thOctober. The march, which began in Konkan Nagar and passed through the Maruti Temple and Malnaka, was supposed to conclude at the R B Shirke High-school.

7. Under the supervision of Ratnagiri District Police Sub-Divisional Officer Mayenkar and Police Inspector Toraskar, the Police detained four individuals in the early hours of 12thOctober. Following these arrests, the protest was called off.

Editorial Perspectives

  • An inquiry should be conducted to investigate whether there is a conspiracy behind this incident, given the upcoming state assembly elections, involving Congress members who appease Muslims and insult the RSS by calling it a terrorist organisation.
  • Seculars who preach “Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb” only to Hindus are now silent about this incident and not saying a word to the Muslims. This makes it clear that these so-called seculars are more dangerous enemies of Hindus than the Muslims themselves.
  • Had Hindus chanted “Jai Shriram” during a Muslim procession, the same Ratnagiri Police would have used force against them and immediately filed cases. Do we even need to explain how Hindus are treated by the Police ?
  • This incident shows the arrogance of Muslims in India. International media, which falsely claims that Muslims live in insecurity in India, should be questioned by Hindus now.
