Board displayed in Kalyan promoting Islam and demeaning other religions

An attempt to show that women have more freedom in Islam through the writings of freedom fighter Annie Besant

Kalyan – A board has been installed at an electricity pole near the main entrance of Birla College here. In it, Islam has been promoted while demeaning other religions. (This could be a conspiracy of pro-Islam group – Editor). The board displays writings of Annie Besant, an Indian freedom fighter, social and women reformer, philosopher and writer. The board displays following text by her, ‘I often feel that woman is more free in Islam than in other faiths. Woman is more protected in Islam than by the faith which preaches monogamy. In Quran, the law about woman is juster and more liberal.’

Editorial Perspective

There is a difference between the ideas presented by Annie Besant a few decades ago and the current situation. This fact is evident from the Union Government legislating against triple talaq to protect married Muslim women. It should also be highlighted what misery the Hindu girls converted to Islam post falling prey to Love Jihad undergo.
