Kolhapur (Maharashtra) – ‘We are not against any religion. We do not disrespect anyone’s faith; however, it is our sacred duty to protect our own Dharma. In our Indian culture, there is a divine tradition where all Saints and Sages, as a religious authority, guide political dispensation continuously.

Therefore, religious authority will always be greater than political authority. Nobody can touch even a strand of hair of Sadhus and Saints during the tenure of Mahayuti Government’, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said.

He was speaking at the conclusion of the ‘Sant Samavesh’ ceremony at Shrikshetra Siddhagiri Mahasansthan, Kaneri Math, on 1 st October. Attendees included Adrishya Kadsiddheshwar Maharaj, Mahant Ramgiri Maharaj, H.B.P. Niranjannath Maharaj, and H.B.P. Gahininath Maharaj, co-chairman of the Shri Vitthal Rukmini Mandir Committee in Pandharpur.

The Chief Minister further said that seeking the blessings and guidance of the Hindu Saints and Seers is abiding by the Dharma.

It is necessary to counter the thoughts of groups that continuously criticise Hindu Dharma and culture; this is our Hindutva. Such gatherings are essential for religious awakening. Saints have the power to awaken crores of people, and thus, this gathering will make a significant impact on society.
