Won’t allow cricket match between India-Bangladesh at Gwalior : Hindu Mahasabha warns

The issue of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh

New Delhi – On 6th October 2024, the Hindu Mahasabha has called for ‘Gwalior bandh’ as India-Bangladesh cricket match is scheduled to be held here on that day. Jayveer Bhardwaj, the national vice president of the Hindu Mahasabha has appealed to people to keep their shops closed on that day. He informed about the unanimous decision taken in a meeting not to let the match be played under any circumstances. The T-20 cricket match between India and Bangladesh is going to be played on 6th October 2024 at the Madhavrao Scindia Stadium in Gwalior. The Hindu Mahasabha has taken the decision in protest of the ongoing attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

1. Earlier, organisations like Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) and other pro-Hindu factions had also opposed this series of matches. During a match at the Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (Hindu People’s Party) staged demonstrations outside the stadium. (Despite the protest, the match was played which shows that no one takes Hindu protests seriously. Therefore, Hindus need to enhance their power).

2. Following the Hindu Mahasabha’s warning, the Police are ensuring tight security arrangements for the match. A large number of Police staff will be deployed. The Hindu Mahasabha is not a very large organisation that could directly challenge law and order, said the Police. (No matter how serious the issue is, whether to take it seriously or not, is decided depending on how powerful the challenging pro-Hindu organisation is ! Will Hindus and their organisations realise this ? – Editor).

3. The Office bearers of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) stated that the Hindu Mahasabha’s warning need not be taken seriously adding that even in last month, it had issued a similar threat. (Had it been even a small Islamic organisation instead of a Hindu organisation, everyone would have taken serious note of it – Editor). As a precautionary measure though, we are keeping an eye on the security arrangements. Our effort is to ensure that no untoward incident occurs during the match.

Editorial Perspectives

  • It is shameful that only a few pro-Hindu organisations are demanding to cancel cricket matches between India and Bangladesh in protest of persecution of Bangladeshi Hindus.
  • The lack of unity among Hindus is the reason why anyone can oppress Hindus anywhere, while Hindus watch idly.
