New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently said that like the British, the Congress is also against Ganeshotsav. On 11thSeptember, Prime Minister Modi went to the residence of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Dhananjay Yashwant Chandrachud in Delhi and took darshan of Shri Ganesh in Chandrachud’s house and performed aarti. Congress criticised this as unconstitutional. Modi replied to him.

The Prime Minister further said that the Congress is following the policy of divide and rule. They are trying to get power. They object to the worship of Shri Ganesh. Ganeshotsav for us is not only a matter of faith or it is not just a festival. Ganeshotsav played an important role in our freedom struggle. Even then, our exploiters, the British, were opposing Ganeshotsav, following the policy of divide and rule. Even today some power hungry people are trying to divide our society. They have objection to Shri Ganesh worship.
