Gas cylinder, petrol bottle and matchbox found on railway track in Kanpur

Kanpur – An incident of placing gas cylinder on the railway track has come to light in Shivrajpur area. On September 8th , at 8 a.m., the Kalindi Express traveling from Bhiwani to Prayagraj on this railway track hit the cylinder and it was thrown aside. Due to this, a major accident was avoided. Kalindi Express was stopped for about 20 minutes after the incident.

Crime registered against unknown persons

As soon as the train stopped, the motorman informed the railway guard and gateman about the incident. When the information about the incident was received, railway officials and railway Police reached the location. The train was stopped for about 20 minutes. The railway Police have seized the cylinder from the spot and a case has been registered against unknown persons. The Police also found a bottle of petrol and a matchbox at the spot. They suspect that there was a conspiracy to cause an accident to Kalindi Express.

Third incident in 3 weeks

This is the third such incident in the last 3 weeks. On August 16, a similar incident took place on the Kanpur-Jhansi route, wherein, 20 coaches of the Sabarmati Express derailed. Some people were injured in this incident. After this, on August 23, timber was placed on the Kansganj railway route. A major disaster was averted even then. Two persons were arrested in this case. They had admitted of placing wood on the railway track while under the influence of alcohol.
