5 lakh people take to the street demanding release of hostages and ceasefire in Israel

Tel Aviv (Israel) – There was a furore in Israel when 6 dead bodies of the hostages were found in Gaza. Nearly 5 lakh Jews protested in various cities on the night of 1^stSeptember. In the Capital Tel Aviv alone, 3 lakh people had gathered. The protesters have claimed the participation of 7 lakh people. During the agitation, the protesters had symbolically held 6 coffin boxes in their hands. The accusation against Netanyahu and his Government was that for political reasons, they were not compromising and not making enough efforts for the release of hostages. 29 agitators were taken into Police custody.

Since 7^thOctober 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, this is the largest demonstration in Israel. The largest workers union in Israel, ‘General Federation of Labour’, has called for a nationwide strike on 2^ndSeptember. The organisation has nearly 8 lakh members, including workers from the health, transport and banking sectors.

The hostages were killed on 30^thAugust

The Israeli army personnels had recovered 6 dead bodies from the Rafah tunnel of Gaza. Postmortem revealed that they were shot at point blank range.

For a few Jews in the captivity of Hamas, 5 lakh Jews take to street. On the other hand, when thousands of Bangladeshi Hindus are suffering atrocities, except for a handful of Hindu organisations, most of the other Hindus are idle.
