Beirut (Lebanon) – The United States and Britain have advised their citizens to leave Lebanon in the wake of the war between the Iran-backed Jihadi terrorist organisation Hezbollah and Israel. Besides this, many countries have also asked their citizens to leave Lebanon. These include Australia and India.
1. The US Embassy in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, posted on X,’U.S. Embassy Beirut notes several airlines have suspended or cancelled flights, and many flights have sold out; however, commercial transportation options to leave Lebanon remain available. We encourage those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any ticket available to them, even if that flight does not depart immediately or does not follow their first-choice route (sic)’.
2. David Lammy, Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom, said, ‘My clear message to British citizens present in Lebanon is to leave Lebanon immediately. We are trying to strengthen the position of our embassy in Lebanon. Tensions are high and the situation can worsen at any time’.
Don’t travel to Lebanon unless necessary : India
The Indian Embassy in Lebanon said in a post on X, ‘ Indian nationals are strongly advised against traveling to Lebanon till further notice. Those who remain in Lebanon for any reason are advised to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movements and remain in contact with Embassy of India in Beirut.’
