Mumbai – Shyam Manav, Joint-President of a Government Committee formed by the then Congress Government to spread awareness about anti-superstitions Act is still in this committee. He was, in fact, punished by the Court for writing fallacious things. He always criticises Saints and Seers from the Warakari Sect based on their castes and hurts religious sentiments. He should, therefore, be expelled from the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANiS), set up by the Government for spreading awareness about ‘the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice, other Inhuman and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013’, demanded Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) through memorandum submitted to the State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Dy CM Devendra Fadanvis.
Expel Shyam Manav from the “Jadutona Kanoon Samiti” for making casteist criticism on Hindu Saints
Demand by @HinduJagrutiOrg to the government
In fact, Hindus shouldn’t have to make such a demand as the Government should take suomoto action on such issues pic.twitter.com/8cFS8kulxg

It has been stated in the memorandum –
Professor Shyam Manav was punished by Mr Padhye, a First-Class Magistrate, Pune, with a day’s imprisonment and fine for publishing false things about Dr P V Vartak, a renowned scholar who has been instrumental in unfolding many scientific facts from ancient Indian scriptures in Sanskrit. As per clause 56 of the Maharashtra Public Trusts Act, 1950’, a person proved guilty of a criminal offence, cannot be a member of any public committee or Trust. In such cases, the post held by him gets vacated. It is, therefore, illegal to take Manav on a legal committee of the Government.
Manav has hatred for Hindu Dharma and Saints tradition. He had claimed in a public programme for creating awareness towards the Anti-superstitions Act, that Saint Dnyaneshwar getting ‘Vedas’ recited by a bull was untrue. Manav has made several such controversial statements. Even earlier, he had said in a programme about Saint Dnyaneshwar that “it was impossible for a 12- year boy from Kulkarni family to make a wall walk’; Saint Tukaram didn’t go to Vaikuntha with his gross body but he was murdered’, etc. He has been making many controversial statements based on castes, hurting religious sentiments of people along with the Warakari Sect of Maharashtra.
It is not a propagation of anti-Superstitions Act but it is a deliberate attempt to confuse and break the faith of Warakaris. Shyam Manav is misusing Government machinery and defaming Hindu Saints. He should be immediately expelled from the Government committee.
Under the guise of eradication of superstitions and his social work, ANiS, his trust has been involved in many financial scams against which legal complaints have been lodged.
ANiS has cheated the Government with millions of rupees by non-payment of share-contribution; besides, collecting millions from foreign countries without submitting the accounts. Owing to this, the Central Home Ministry cancelled the registration of ANiS under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 (FCRA).
The Charity Commissioner has recommended appointment of an Administrator on the Board of Trustees of ANiS and in-depth inquiry has been going on at the State level.
The members of ANiS were arrested for their participation in Naxal activities. Such corrupt, scamming, urban Naxal organisation and their office bearers being inducted on Government committees is a very serious matter and along with Shyam Manav, even the office bearers should be immediately expelled and the Committee should be dissolved.
