Muslim Rashtriya Manch supports order to write owner names on the shops

New Delhi – The Muslim Rashtriya Manch has voiced its support for the Uttar Pradesh Government’s directive to display the names of shop owners on the shops along the Kanwar Yatra routes. During a meeting held in Delhi, the organisation decided to back the Government order. In a statement issued after the meeting, the forum welcomed Kanwar pilgrims wholeheartedly and announced that the forum would attempt to promote social harmony.

The Muslim Rashtriya Manch has said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav are trying to divide Muslims over Kanwar Yatra. The order to write the names of the owners on the shops has been given to prevent disturbing the social harmony. The decision has been taken so that the pilgrims can get food according to their preferences. Muslim sellers will also supply goods keeping in mind the sanctity desired by the Hindu community. Like every year, this year also the Kanwar pilgrims will be showered with flowers, sprinkled with cold water, served with water, fruits, juices and food.

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind’s opposition

Maulana Arshad Madani, National President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, has criticised the Uttar Pradesh Government’s directive. Madani described the decision as discriminatory and expressed concerns that it could disrupt religious harmony by providing opportunities for anti-national elements to exploit the situation. (Does the religious harmony remains intact when Hindu religious processions are attacked from mosques or when Love Jihad is carried out ? Why does Madani not oppose such incidents ? ‘Shop Jihad’ is similar to ‘Love Jihad’ where Muslims hide their religious identity to cheat Hindus. Hence it must be compulsory to write the owner name on the shops – Editor). Madani also pointed out that Muslims traditionally serve Kanwar pilgrims during the Yatra, providing them with food, water, and other necessities. He argued that the order is first such attempt to isolate a specific community and foster discrimination and hatred among citizens. He called for the withdrawal of this divisive and unfair mandate.
