
Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – During the Kavad Yatra in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, shopkeepers are now required to prominently display their names on their shops, following a similar order in Uttar Pradesh. The Senior Superintendent of Police has confirmed this directive. As a result, shop owners and employees must display their names clearly on the facade for verification by the administration. The Kavad Yatra is scheduled to commence on July 22nd.
Hotel and dhaba owners in the Haridwar area have been instructed by the Police to install CCTV cameras. The Police have also warned of strict consequences for non-compliance with these instructions. Despite this, many hoteliers in Haridwar have chosen not to adhere to the Police directives.

Ban on eggs, garlic and onion
During the Kavad Yatra, the Police have instructed hotel and dhaba owners to refrain from serving meat, eggs, garlic, and onions. Additionally, the consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited. They have also mandated that a list of food items available in hotels and dhabas be prominently displayed on their facades.
